Flashes was created by alnilam
I observed two, what can be best described, as flashes emanating from near Cassiopeia in line with the "Milky Way" around 23.00 hrs on Sunday night. First flash was very bright, no discernible color, the second was less bright from the same area as far as I can tell. I checked "Heavens Above" for satellite info or Iridium flares etc. but none seemed to match. Not an aircraft. Maybe a tumbling satellite.
Any ideas what it may have been?

There's been reports about this kind of thing here
not so long ago.
I've seen what you describe a few times.
Along with other very fast moving objects that are not
on the satellite tracker databases.
Tumbling satellites or almost head on meteors they probably are.
