22/11/2009 - GREAT CaK VIEW TODAY was created by THEO-007
Observation in CaK today after many days.
Great view. Great faculaes.
Two pairs with the same type of them.
At the east side the first pair composed from two COMPACT EXTENDED FACULAES with sunspots inside them. At least two sunspots.
At the west side we have the second pair and the most beautiful. A pair with two great VEINED FACULAES with great structure.
All around of the two pairs we have another faculaes with spot shape and groups with the same shape.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Great images Theo, with the weather we're having here at the moment it's the only view of the sun we're likely to get.
Out of curiosity, is the CalK scope purely a photogrpahic scope or can it be used for observing?

Yes great images there Theo no sun here, Bray Co Wicklow , where I live is been bashed up by wind and rain.
I had a lend of a CaK scope for a while , the smaller active regions were visible to my eye
but in a minimum way. Never good enough detail to sketch , some people have been lucky to have a large AR to observe in CaK by eye and have produced good sketches.

It`s a photographic skope first but if you have sharp eye the observation is ok.
I try to find ways to sketch the sun in CaK.
Thanks guys for the support.
