Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
Braved the cold temperatures the past two night, I'm lucky to have a decent southerly view and had a look around Puppis and Canis Major, I also went to Gemini for M35.
Hope you like them.
M35
There is a nice blue/yellow double sitting in M35.
M50
This is a nice wide open cluster displaying a wide variety of different magnitude stars.
M41
A pretty cluster and easy to locate, it has some nice patterns within it.
M47
Another big bright cluster that looks best with low magnification and the 27mm Panoptic frames it nicely.
M46
A double treat, an open cluster with a planetary thrown in for good measure. The planetary wasn't visible until I popped in an O-III and there it was. It looked somewhat like the Ring Nebula.
I decided that I'm not going to alter the stars in Photoshop to give them a more rounded appearance, perhaps it's better to show the sketch warts and all. The only exception is if there are coloured stars to add, maybe I'll buy some coloured pens.
Thanks for taking the time.
Paul

Nice work Paul.
Must have taken a fair bit of time to draw all the stars in those sketches.
