Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
Tuesday night Wednesday morning saw some fine skies and an opportunity to get some Messier's down.
Hope you like them.
M67
Overlooked in favour of The Beehive, well worth a visit.
M97
The nebula itself is easy to see, the 'eyes' were more difficult and required averted vision to pull in. The size of the 'eyes' is a little surprising.
M109
The core of this galaxy was obvious to see with a halo of nebulosity surrounding it.
M108
An elongated streak with a foreground star embedded within the nebula.
Thanks for taking the time.
Paul

Excellent observations and sketches Paul !!!
Are you using a white gel pen from our local art suppliers?
You are building a great collection these days.

Thanks everyone.
I'm using a fine nib pen Deirdre and then inverting the image in Photoshop.
I'm working my way through the Messier list, for some reason I'm having trouble sketching M78 and M79. With M78 I'm not really sure what I'm seeing and M79 just doesn't seem to present itself to me. Time's running out and I'm hoping to get them before they disappear until next winter.
