Nice one Johnathan, I was up also between 2am and 3am, I think you done better to observe it before 2am, it was very bright from here in cavan last night.
I used my 15x70mm binoculars and I spotted it easily enough at about magnitude 5.5 or so, very green and definitley no tail, certainly at that stage I could not see it naked eye.

I got a few more shots of it last night, the seeing and transparency were quite good. The tails is clearly visible now.

In the following 1-minute exposure, the comet forms a nice right angle triangle with a magnitude 6.20 star (Hip 16252, top) and a magnitude 7.0 star (Hip 16326, right).

Luckily, there was also a small display of noctilucent clouds as I was packing up.

Fair plat to you Mike for getting up to catch this fella, I see the tail is now getting a bit brighter and longer, hope fully it will improve even more, even though the twilight will be a big challenge
