Bright Noctilucent Cloud Display 13/14 June 2010 was created by JohnONeill
Hi,
After I observed Comet McNaught C/2009 R1, there was a nice display of Notilucent Cloud (after about 1hrs UT 14 June 2010). Altitude 5 degrees, Brightness 3, Type III or IV.
See: homepage.eircom.net/~vsn
I estimated the comet to be magnitude 5.4 in 12x36 binoculars. I could not see a tail, perhaps of the all night twilight.
John

Hi,
The NC display of 13/14 June 2010 developed very quickly, brightening within minutes. The photo shows the view essentially as seen with the naked eye.
I know image processing can skew images to make them unrealistic.
However, the only processing done was very slight curves (and cropping) in PS. No Levels, sharpening or anything else was applied.
