Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
I was observing the sun this morning in white light, as I was checking the filter with the naked eye I could see that the sunspot AR 1092 was clearly visible to the naked eye as a black dot, like a spot of dirt, giving an idication of the size of this beast.
Using the the ETX the spot is enormous with plenty of detail visible.
Over on the suns limb a new sunspot group can be seen emerging into view. There are numerous spots in the group and this could develop into a promising sight in the days to come.

Thanks for the tip Paul!
It was really eerie to see a sunspot with the naked eye through a filter!!
I made a little video of it below!
(HD 1080 on youtube, not sure if it will come up in HD here...)

Love the video Graham, mostly of your astronomical content, but also for the music - what is that piece?

Thanks!
Its Called 'Film-Atmosphere', I bought the licence to some of this guys stuff. www.music4yourvids.co.uk/pages/mymusicpag.html
He has some great music for putting in videos.
If you dont buy the licence you just have to attribute him, if you buy it you dont!
Or something like that, the T&C's are somewhere!
It beats youtube putting adds on your videos or worse for having someone elses copyright music!

If you have any suggestions on how I can get better images with this set-up I would be delighted to hear them!
(apart from the dirty window and lack of tripod!)
