Fireball event from Sunday November 27th? was created by Seanie_Morris
Did anyone see a fireball event in the southern skies after 6pm last night? I have received a couple of calls last night and this morning asking about it. Even the local radio station (Midlands 103) have me lined up for an interview this morning. I didn't see anything myself, but from what some have decsribed it looks like space junk and not a meteor(ite).

The interview went well. Some callers taken live on air confirmed two events. One seems to have been something like space junk burning up in the southwest and the second seems to have appeared like a fast green (Geminid?) fireball in the north, each at around 6.05pm and 6.15pm respectively.

Anyone see anything?

I seen the fireball ,it lasted for about 8 seconds about 30 degrees above the horizon
traveling west possibly mag -4 constantly breaking up as it traveled and ended with a flash
at mag -6 an unforgatable sight

Out building an igloo last night with my two lads and saw the fireball. It was about 15 degrees above the horizon traveling from north east to westnorthwest. It lasted about 5 to 6 secs. At first we thought it was a very bright plane but then noticed it was traveling very fast. It was yellow, orange and red at times and for about one or two secs it developed a trail of sparks which were abaout 2 or 3 degrees extent behind the main fireball. It was at its brightest then. lasted about another second and a half but quickly extinguished. was fab to see with the lads.
