Firstly I check the cloud cover expert charts from weatheronline.co.uk, the following link gives you total cloud coverage for low, mid and high level clouds mixed
www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertch...OOM=0&ARCHIV=0&RES=0
I then use the Astro Panel, which seems to get updated at the same time that weatheronline update their expert charts, this gives you sky conditions, transparency, humidity etc
7timer.y234.cn/V3/index.php?product=astr...tric&tzshift=0&site=
The above link is for Ballincollig, but you can search for your own town/city
It updates between 4:15 and 4:45 pm which is what I go off for the early night viewing, and then it updates again at 10:15pm - 10:45pm for the late night viewing, there is also an application for andriod phones, if you search in the google apps for "astro panel".
Regards

Funny, funny.
Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi Simon, Good to meet you last night at the CAC meeting, thanks for the 2 sites above, I have added them to my favourites - hopefully it will assist us when we are considering calling observing sessions.
