To get to a dark site most people need to drive for 2 to 3 hours out of the cities so Dobs are a popular choice. I bought one myself for that reason.

My 12" Lightbridge is my most used scope. It sets up in minutes and you can load it into the car in two minutes. Optically it is pretty good but it needed some basic mods such as new springs, bobs knobs and counterweights.
