Vesta + Moon was created by flt158
It's not every night when one can observe a conjunction with the Moon and the asteroid Vesta. Vesta is 1.5 degrees northeast of our Moon. It is magnitude 7.8.
While I'm mentioning this -Rupes Recta is also right on the terminator; as is Plato.

Good grief, as Charlie Brown said.

I was out observing the moon last night and I did not know that Vesta was in the field.

Where did you get the information Aubrey?

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi Paul. I found out from Guy Ottewell's Astronomical Calendar 2013 and Guide 8 from Project Pluto.

Still it was good see once again Rupes Recta, Plato, Aristillis, Archimedes and its mountains, the Alpine Valley, Eratosthenes and Timocharis on the terminator.

Aubrey.
