Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

My wife and I spent the weekend at a hotel 8 kilometres south of Cahir in south Tipperary, at the foot of the Galtee and Knockmealdown mountains. The nearest major road is the M8, and it is unlit, the road that runs outside the hotel is the R639, also unlit. On Friday night we took a walk along a forest walk behind the hotel, as I saw that the stars were out. With the lights of the hotel blocked the sight was wonderful, the sky was pristine and glistening with stars, stupid here didn't even bring a pair of binoculars, but the naked eye views more than made up for it. It's a lovely part of the country and would make a great place to observe.
If anyone plans a trip to this beautiful location at least bring some binoculars.

Not going to camp anytime soon with this freakin weather I loved the views I got from Allihies a few years back, very dark and clear, late summer constellations looked wonderful.
