Hi Aubrey, sorry I should have said a Telementor is a 63mm Zeiss refractor
with a focal length of 840mm, the name means school telescope I think, zeiss
produced them for East German schools. They are beautiful little scopes
very good on double stars.

Thank you, Pat, for that. I did Google Telementor, and I found an article on cloudy nights.com. Nice scope, where did you get it? How long do you have it? You probably have the only one in Ireland!

Aubrey I bought it off Richard Day of Skylight Telescopes of London,
I have it about 3 years it is a superb scope built like a tank you can take it
out of a warm house and in 10 minutes its giving text book images.
It came with the Zeiss T mount which was made just for it. Not sure if its
the only one in Ireland be nice if it was.

Yes, Pat, I find refractors very advantageous in that we can use them straight away without bothering about when they cool down to ground temperatures. Anyway I have set up already set up for a night's observing. I hope to solve the colours of your mystery star 54 Leonis. I will post separately.
