Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
I am looking for an external power source for my scope setup, CG-5, my old Powertank seems to be giving up the ghost. I was looking at the Maplins website and they have a number of options, I would need a power source for the mount and possibly a dew heater, nothing else. Any advice on a good model?
Here's the website:

I got this battery from securitydirect
www.securitydirect.ie/batteries/yuasa-yu...echargeable-battery/
With postage was just over €30 but you will need a charger.
It seems good. I've powered a cg5 mount and a toshiba laptop for about 5hours (using a transformer) and it was still going strong at the end of the night.

The Halfords 20AHr packs are pretty good. I have two of them which I bought seven years ago. Both still work fine powering my CGE mount and a portable hairdryer or band heater. They have been shipped around the world (lets see if they survive this one last trip to Ireland ) The trick is to always charge them up as soon as you can after use to extend the battery life.

Hey Paul,
You could look into replacing the batteries in your existing powertank, maplin and radionics carry these kind of batteries, failing that then the one recommended by John would be a good option.
