Hi all
I was trawling around ebay, looking at the eyepieces, when I came across this eyepiece:
www.apm-telescopes.de/en/Eyepieces//Expl...-Eyepiece-16mm-.html
Looking around the Internet, it appears that this is essentially the Meade Series 5000 Super Wide Angle, and the story goes that they were a batch ordered by the company and was cancelled, apparently when this batch is gone, that's it.
I was looking for an eyepiece in the 12mm-18mm range, and for this price, €18 for postage, I couldn't turn one down.
When I get to use it, I'll let you know how I get on.
Paul

It appears to have quite good apparent field of view, Paul. Good for star hopping. You must figure out what its true field of view is. It has 6 lenses also -very nice.

thanks for the heads up on that
that sooo looks like a meade clone !, but look at the price !
thats for nothing , I'd be very tempted if I was in the market for a 68 degree eyepiece

These are exactly the same as meade, they were made for mead before they were taken over, they are just rebranded,i have the 16mm and the 24mm,they are excellent eyepieces.
