Hi All,
In recent days my dobsonian base has become difficult to move. There seemed be some friction preventing it moving freely in Azimuth. I remember reading about someone having a similar issue before, and how they removed the friction by applying soap to the Teflon pads.
As I want this evening's observational session to go as well as possible I decided to grease the pads with some soap. I am shocked at how well it has worked. It now glides beautifully; better than ever!
Here's to a good evening gents - clear skies are here.
Darren.
