Hi Dave,
No, I never needed to collimate this before - I just put in the Bobs Knobs simply because everybody that has them, raves about them. The screws before I took them out were quite tight, but the bobs screws are not as tight in there now, but like I've been saying, it's not collimated either.

I suppose it's just a matter of getting the 'knack' of it, I wouldn't mind but I work with optics and do laser alignments everyday, so one would think this should come easy to me, but nope!

And of course, it was foggy last night, so I didnt get to do anything with it.
Fingers crossed tonight will be better....

Seamus,
You have nothing to worry about, your scope is not destroyed.
There is a nack to it, even the slightest fraction of a turn can make a bigdifferance,
If you just replaced one screw at a time and hoped it would be the same, it just doesnt work that way.

Well lads, I finally got this collimation/bobs knobs sorted out, I went and got a kendrick laser collimator - turns out it was *way* off, so once I got it roughly corrected using that, I was able to tweak it in using the out of focus star method. I've learned alot about collimation over the past weeks it's taken me to sort it out!
Thanks for all you guys help too!!!
