Top marks to Lidl and Meade on their customer service!
Having bought the EXT70 in Lidl before Christmas, I shortly after “came a cropperâ€. The autostar worked once for a few minutes, and died . Nothing I could do would bring it back from the dead. No point bringing it back to the shop! All they would be able to do is give me a refund. However, I wanted the scope, not the money. On advice from a TAS member, (no, not Seanie. He’s not the only one, he just talks more than the rest of us! ) I called the Lidl Service line in the UK. There, I spoke to a guy called Michael Day who was very friendly and eager to help. He in turn contacted Meade for me, and one week later I received a new autostar, couriered to my front door from Germany. All is now working perfectly!
Who says you shouldn’t buy a telescope from a supermarket!

That is an impressive story of customer service from Lidl and Meade...well worth re-telling.
I was impressed when I got my "Lidl Scope" to note that they had pasted into the manual contact details for customers requiring service in the Rep Of Ireland.
Your new auststar was sent from Germany. Could this be a practical example of the positive influence of the new German pope!!!!!
