Well, im going to use my head here - after reading many reviews of the Celestron/Meade 10" scopes, Im not sure that the mount is up to the job on either. And since astrophotography is a goal of mine, I will get the one with the best mount, which is the Skywatcher 250px Eq6. This is £850, and if needs be, I can upgrade it to goto for £450 a bit down the line. The mount seems to be good (afaik its manufactured by Synta), and certainly seems to be sturdier than the Celestron/Meade equivalents. Shipping is £50, and it just seems the better value setup of the 3. And cheaper too. The family can continue using the 114gt until I sell it on.

That company I mentioned above do ship to Ireland, I assume that if they ship here it does not void the warranty? This shipping on the LXD 75 10" is $450 which pushes it up to about €1800 for the one with UHTC coatings.
