Tele vue 2" diagonal/astro physics

I've been trying to buy the televue 2" everbright star diagonal from the USA(obviously dollar our favour).Scopetronix won't ship it to outside the states and they've directed me to English sites...but the sterling price then puts me off altogether. On the Lx50 user group site I use some guys also recommend the astrophysics piece as another high end upgrade(priced similarily) they will ship but I had my heart set on the Televue and hopefully down the road a Nagler eyepiece.

Anyone any ideas how to get stuff from the states or at least at the dollar rates(without actually going there! and I don't have relatives there)?

Place an ad on Astromart asking for a MINT condition unit. A further benefit is that you can ask the seller's "help" with the declared value on the package.

Been there, done that ... many times!

I'd agree with Anthony there.
I've put up adds there for equipment and have never been burnt and payed way less then in any shop.

Adorama will ship per UPS or similar; I have used them and found all ok. Probably cost something also for duty if you lose out on the customs lottery. I have no idea if the pricing on this product is good or not.

There are companies - "remailers" - who give you a US address to use on your order and then ship the items on to you. I have never tried this and don't know how much it costs, but here is an example of one: www.myus.com/

Thanks for those leads everybody...I'll do some investigating.
A friend who works for intel's just returned from there..didn't even know he'd been out there for 4 months! He might have a way around it for me too. thanks again everybody
