Are you saying that its more likelt to hit the base in polar mode??
I would have thought it was more prone to this in altaz mode, my setup certainly is more hittable in altaz mode.
In polar mode on the lx90, the scope is at 90degrees in the altitude/vertical axis when pointing at the pole star (home position).
