Thanks Dave. I reckon I will just get it and try it out, especially considering the low price. The tripod is the clincher as I'd imagine the telescope performance is almost equivalent, although I suppose there would be slightly more light grab with the Skylux.

For the price you are going to pay for the Skylux, you can't really complain about the quality of the EQ2! It works perfectly - considering!
