I have problem with (Autostar #497) Align

f it thinks it's in Alt/Az instead of Polar it might explain everything being messed up.

(It's Setup > Telescope > Mount on Autostar II; not sure if it's the same on 497 or not.)

My thoughts exactly, make sure if you use the scope in altaz mode that the scopes software is set for it.

The LXD 75 mount is polar.

Another idea: double-check your site co-ordinates. The co-ordinates might be right but perhaps with the wrong sign (+/-) or (W/E) or (N/S). Very easy to make a mistake when doing this.

Thanks Michael but I check my cordinates, I have 40° 50.85' N & 25° 52.467' E. My town in North of Greece (Alexandroupolis)

Try removing the cable from the autostar and the scope and swapping the ends around. Might be a lose connection or wire in the cable mabey??

Right, that's exactly my point. After a reset, I believe the 497 "wakes up" in Alt/Az mode. (The Autostar II does, anyway.)

You need to reset it to Polar.
