Nexstar 11 third hand?

Thanks for that Steve. Im not sure. I suppose it cant hurt to go and look at it and hopefully try it out. Do you know how much it would cost to ship a C11 from england? The idea is starting to become more and more appealing.

Afaik green witch charged my 30/40 pound to ship a 12" dob to me. They are by far the cheapest for shipping. Other places had quoted me 100-150 pound for shipping of big dobs!!!

or you could always ask Astronomy Ireland to match price from overseas.

Hmmm, im not sure Astronomy Ire. would be willing to cut nearly 900e off a scope. The standard C11 without goto or XLT is still more expensive in AstronomyIre. then the C11 SGT(XLT) is in england. If shipping only costs me 100euro or so then its starting to look like the best option. As i said ill still go and look at the Nexstar and take it from there. Thanks for the advice guys. Neil - give them the chance. You never know...

If nothing else, when they tell you they take off, say 100 quid, you can tell them you'll go elsewhere and they'll know they've lost a sale.

Presumably, this will be noted and AI will take a good hard look at the prices they are charging, possibly reducing them for the benefit of all of us.
