Have a look at this using colour webcam capture
www.geocities.com/shannonsideac/graphics/sun/sun_dl_120204.jpg
That red is the real h-alpha colour
and this using black and white capture
homepage.eircom.net/~sac/graphics/sun/sun_paddys_day2.jpg
The yellow shade is put in by me in photoshop afterwards

The h-alpha red is a single frequency in the red end of the spectrum, I dont see where green or blue would come from????? except in chromatic abberation, but that would be in negligible quantities compared to the red.Can anyone explain that to me :

nah, I don't buy the chromatic aberration. If that were all it were, it wouldn't contain all the surface detail. There must be another explanation for it, but it baffles me.
FWIW, this is "the norm" for h-alpha images. The methods I described for processing the image was stuff I saw on a few other websites by astrophotographers.
