Binocular Parallelogram Mount was created by Keith g
Folks, Have any of you used one of these?
I hear they are great for holding big binos allowing views right up to 90* !
And it extends to a height of 7ft 7", great for me as I am 6ft 1" !
Have any of you used on before?
Thanks,
Keith

hi Keith,
I haven't used a parallelogram mount before but definitely would aim to get one some time. A couple of people I know have purchased theirs from Bob Campbell in the Tullamore Astro. Soc. . . . Bob makes them from scratch and their owners speak very highly of the mounts. Price I think is 350 euros and comprises a very solid hand-built tripod as well as the mount itself. These things are very heavy!
what I am hoping do is build my own based on the various plans posted on Cloudy Nights along with a couple of other pages I stumbled across. It's very much a no-start-date-set-yet project but maybe over the Summer.
what I also got earlier in the year was a red dot finder as the 22x100mm have about a 2.6 degree FOV and it takes a bit of getting used to. Haven't mounted the finder yet on the binoculars but when the galaxy fields of Spring arrive the finder will be very handy.
atb,
John
