I've been thinking about dew control. My priority is observing with the min amount of setup time and hassel. If I cant set up the gear in less than five mins I get irratated.
At the moment i'm using a dob so I dont have a dew problem on the mirror just the eyepieces and the Telrad. I dont want to get anti dew heaters or hot air gun as I would need to bring out a 12V supply and set up wires etc.
What I'm thinking about is putting my eyepieces and Telrad in a insulated beer cooler bag and also putting one of those handwarmers in the bag. The handwarmer I have in mind is the type you get in camping shops. It looks like a sealed bag of purple gel with a submerged metal strip, once you bend the strip a chemical reaction causes the bag to heat for a couple of hours.
Plan being that I keep taking the eyepieces in & out of warm bag while not in use.
Any body got any other simple anti dew suggestions?
