I finally got my 16" LX200GPS sorted out. Sadly, there was a good amount of replacement involved, and not that much fixing. Still, it's good to be looking through the damn thing again, instead of tinkering with it.
With some able guidance from Dave McDonald, I de-forked my SCT and re-mounted the OTA on an Astro-Physics 1200GTO sourced on AstroMart. There have been a lot of superlatives written about the AP1200GTO. Then again, there have been a lot of superlatives written about the Meade 16" LX200GPS as well. Let's just say that in my experience, the AP deserves them. We'll leave it at that.
