Celestron C6-R Problems was created by John McNally
Cannot seem to balance my C4-R refractor on its CG5 mount. When I do have it balanced you need arms like a baboon to operate slowmotion controls. Have installed a drive and have imaging gear.

Early versions CG5 had problems with axis grease hardening.
I understood this problem had been solved by Celestron.
I have a C6R-GT go to on the same mount and I notice that it has become a bit stiff to move by hand but motor control is perfect.
(Because of where the problem lies the motors are not being strained at all.)
