I see that fuji are gearing this towards law enforcement agencies to help in forensic investigation. It crossed my mind that the criminals might also make use of this to make sure they 'cleaned up' properly!

I dont think that would work. If I read the blurb correctly this is an UV/IR imager. As such this only passes UV/IR wavelenghts and blocks everything else including H-Alpha.

This will only image things that shine in UV/IR light. Most things have some UV/IR component to them including astro objects. However you would end up with very dim astro images consisting only of the light coming from these parts of the spectrum.
Here's an example of what an IR photo scene looks like.
