how much can a barn door handle?

Hey.

I am planning on building a mount for my 8" dob and would like to know what is the maximum that the barn door type of mount can safely hold?
I can beef it up by modifying my plans a little, but if anyone has experience with this I would like to have some input.

You'll probably need a Poncet mount for a scope like that. Principal is similar though.
