Hi Folks,

Thought some of you might like to see how my 14" folded Stevick-Paul telescope project is coming on. For me the world is indeed flat, as everything I have been reading and doing recently has been about grinding, polishing and testing the big 10" flat at the heart of this scope and turns it from a bog standard Stevick-Paul into the much sexier and altogether more desirable Folded Stevick-Paul!

Actually, I finished grinding and polishing out the three plates (one of which will become 'the' flat) months ago. I just haven't got around to building an interferometer to test them until now.

Now that I can test them easily, there's nothing to stop me from starting to figure them into really flat flats! ...except I just dislocated my shoulder at the weekend and can just about lift a tea cup! But that's another story.

Anyway, for those who might be interested, have a look at:

This is my temporary website wot I just done up today - I'm quite pleased!

All the best,

Phil.

Hi Phil,

Would you like to borrow my black and decker belt sander? It will have that lot flat in a jiffy ;)

Later,
