what do you think of a certain brass "ornamental" was created by dave_lillis
Hi,
While browsing through a secondhand shop recently, I came across a "brass" refractor, it looked like a 3 inch refractor of quite long focal length, definitely greater then f10, so the tube was over 3 feet long. It was on a wooden tripod, of the size you'd get for a standard set of binoculars. One unusual thing was that the focuser was helical with a fixed brass eyepiece, This scope didnt look old or used although the tripod had some minor knocks to it.
I was wondering does anyone out there know if this would be a "real ornament" scope or would it be a 50$ cheapo chinese import, does anyone know of something similar on the web.
It had no name badge or ID markings, optically it was surprisingly good even though it had a narrow field of view.
Any help would be appreciated.

Removing the 12" from the forks and replacing with something a bit more "portable" Dave, eh...

I had a good look at it today, and there are absolutely no markings on it at all, nothing to tell me where its from... so I think I'll give it a miss.
