Which eyepiece would be best? was created by lunartic_old
Hi all
With the 80mm f/6 Zenithstar I am wondering if it would be worth my while buying some 2" eyepieces, or should I stick the the 1.25" eyepieces that I already possess.
What would be the gains?
Thanks for the help.
Paul

I went through this same thinking some time ago. I had good quality Meade Plossls and decided to upgrade to Naglers and Panoptics. These are excellent eyepieces that give a fantastic view. "Spacewalk" feel, as they call it. This is as good as mono-vision can get!
Some time later, I decided to buy a William Optics binoviewer. I have used this on both my 12" SCT and my WO 80mm refractor. The views with both eyes are simply stunning!!
My advice would be to get a WO binoviewer as it comes with a matching set of 1.25" 20mm eyepieces. Good quality guaranteed and there is nothing quite like stereo-vision!
Hope this helps,
