Hi guys! With all the talk of fiendishly observatories i came across this!

Its a pop up tent(literally,it pops up). this is a VERY good price! I know Trevor durity on the boards has one like it(better brand prob) And i have to say it looks very nifty! :D This also folds up and i think its a steal at that price!

It's a great idea, but how will it perform in the wind?

I imagine putting it up and taking it down in breezy conditions would not be easy.

I know trevor doesnt take his down! Not ideal in REALLY WINDY conditions but if well anchored it performs well in strong winds! Ive seen these type tents at MUCH Higher prices!

I've an old issue of Sky and Telescope guys (think it was one of those from the mid-1990s) which describes a similar home-made set-up. It was constructed from a load of Hula-Hoop rings which were inter-linked. You then draped a tarpaulin over the dome. Anytime you repositioned the telescope you just had to lift up the whole dome!
