Here is something i've seen little mention of and only once on irishastronomy.

I want to put it here even just incase people are not aware of them and for discussion.

Some of the results that people are getting with these are amazing, there is pics in the links. People have said they are no longer using their eye-peices the results are that good.

Even in higher light poluted areas and small aperture scope's.

They also add alot of practicality too as they allow for remote viewing away from the scope.

What ya'll think?

The guys in Cloudynights think its the bees knees!
Think of the image on my 42" wide-screen tv, I could run a cable form the scope back into the house.
At 1200$, I'm asking myself is it worth it ?

Another thread about this camera wrt light pollution.

www.cloudynights.com/ubbthreads/showflat...d/sb/5/o/all/fpart/1

Well dave is guess only you can ask that question lol.

But altough i haven't used one myself from what im reading and its some very respected people that are praising this they are worth it for alot of people.

Some obvious example's are:

1. People who's eyesight has degraded, they can now view on a 42" widescreen tv.

2. For clubs/groups, now instead of just one person at a time viewing, connect it up to a screen a dozens of people can view at once.

3. Remote viewing has a thread worth of benifit's.

4. They increase the quality of viewing in light polluted skies/allow for smaller apeture scope to be used.

The only draw back is the price (as always), but for what your getting versus a case load of naglers/bits and peices it isn't an unreasonable price.

One more thing is they are not complicated to use, and it has been said they even remove part of the long hard learning curve involved in astrophotography which open the market for the full spectrum of astronomers.
