If so, are there threads on the end of the scope to screw on a filter?

Do you mean at the dew shield end? No threads on that side I'm afraid.

By any chance is there a little black ring at the end of the dew shield on the inside which can screw off?

Geez, you're right. I never noticed that before. The ring is about 8cms. Not sure what the thread is though.
