Hybrid h-alpha system was created by ayiomamitis
Dear group,
I was wondering if anyone has considered or used a hybrid h-alpha system either for observation or for imaging? More specifically, one can acquire a large aperture energy rejection filter such as a Daystar for relative cheap and combine that with a blocking filter from Coronado which in itself is also relatively cheap.
There are also examples of people purchasing PST's and removing the front portion of the unit and inserting a 2" adapter which can then be inserted into a focuser.
Any suggestions and advice would be very much appreciated.

Yep,
I'm in the process of doing this.
Not sure it would be wise to post mod details to a public board board (safety-wise) so I've PM'd you.

I considered an energy rejection filter (off axis) for the 12", say a 4" aperture, and then using a DayStar filter system, this would have worked fine as the Daystar needs the scope to be F30 or more as this would have been,
but I dismissed it (for now) as the cost is very high as I'd want the narrowest bandpass possible.
