A great choice DB.
I can't speak highly enough about ATIK's committment to quality and service. The specs on the IC look great. The only camera in that price range that I know of with true TEC cooling. Nice big 7.4uM pixels too. You can use the camera as an autoguider too should you ever end up with another camera.
As mentioned in another thread, I had to send my ATIK 16HR back for repair after managing to drop it on concrete. Rui Tripa in ATIK could not have been more helpful. He's repaired the camera, replaced the dessicant inside and it's on its way back to me within a few days. All of this, and he only charged me €35 plus p&p.
I'm so pleased that I've ordered the colour version (ATIK 16HRc) and I'm expecting that very shortly.
I'm sorry if this sounds like an ad for ATIK, but I really cannot speak highly enough of the way they do business. After some bad experiences with other CCD manufacturers it is a pleasure to deal with people who care about what they do and provide a product which does what it claims.
Hope you have a great time with the new cam DB.

Fair play Dave!
That camera looks class.
It'd probably be my next buy after a scope upgrade.
I'm looking forward to seeing your work with it.

You have condemned us to atleast 2 months of rain given the exponential rule regarding equipment purchase and bad weather expectation.
A very nice camera, I hope you get to use it before the warranty runs out.
