We have tracking !! (2080 SCT upgrade)

Managed to upgrade my old southern hemisphere Meade SCT 2080 with its 220v drive with an LX10 base with DC motor drive (thanks to Lunartic's redundent LX10 fork arms and base-thanks Paul).
This is the first time in over 10 years I have used this 8" scope with basic tracking. Forgot how good a scope it was. Took it out this evening for one last look at saturn, great to be able to push up the power on it again wihtout constantly adjusting the field of view. This is my grab and go scope again.
Out of curiosity I opened up the old 2080 motor housing which is 220V. I couldn't believe how dangerous it actually was. I bought it in Australia but there is no way it would have ever had achieved CE mark. I can see why they went to 12V drives.

I know what you mean by "dangerous"
I recently fixed a 30 year old super8 projector and OMG!!, how people weren't electrocuted by them is beyond me.
