Lidl dewshield

I bought one of those Lidl camping mats (the one with the reflective foil on one side. Cost about €5. I cut out a piece to fit around my C11 with a slot to slide over the dovetail. Works a treat! The strap that came with the mat will stretch around the C11 to secure it in place-it looks good also. Its much better than the Celestron flexible dew shield that I bought when collecting the instrument (cost me nearly €70). Think I might sell it-it doesn't work well when there is a dovetail in the way-fine for a fork mounted scope.
I've used the remaining foam to fit out my accessory case to hold my eyepieces, webcam and filters in place.

Does the foil make much difference? I've used a camping mat as a dew shield for years, but just the regular foam kind.

Unfortunately with the Limerick weather I haven't had a chance to try it out. The silver side is obviously on the outside of the wrap. The only problem I can see is that it may be too insulating and not let the scope cool down fast enough. Needs to be tested but it does look good.
