Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi there folks.
With the recent purchase of the 127mm refractor I've decided to replace the focuser, it's adequate, but not as smooth as I would live, I took it apart and cleaned it but I'm still not happy, there's a little image shift.
It's a Telescope Service scope and on their website they advertise a Crayford focuser both the standard and the micro adjustment models. I contacted Patrick at TS and he told me an adapter for €50 that they built is needed. The total cost, with shipping, comes to €168 for the standard or €266 with the micro focuser. As I am purely a visual observer is it worth the extra cost for the micro focuser?
A Moonlite would be nice, but have you seen the prices?

Hi Paul,
Image shift in a focuser drives me mental, smoothness is really nice to have, I have a JMI DX1 and its the bees knees, it has a micro focuser wheel on it but to be honest I find I use the coarser focus wheel alot more often. I would not go for the a micro focuser option to be honest, it just happened to come as is with what I got.
