good affordable barlow. need a recommendation was created by fguihen
Im looking for a good 2X barlow for a 1.25' star diagonal. can anyone recommend one, that wont kill my credit card, that will soon be scorched by the purchase of a new mount?? the saying certainly is true, that a cocaine addiction would be more affordable than astronomy!

I used to have a meade 126 2x shorty barlow, its cheap enough and showed surprisingly good views.

I spent some time reading up on barlows a couple of years ago and decided to go with the Celestron 1.25" Ultima barlow. Very good performer and still very happy with it. Won't break the bank either.

I'd agree with Michael, I use a Celestron Ultima barlow and have compared it to the Meade, I think the Ultima wins easily and is relatively inexpensive - around £40 I think.
