If you brought those things out into your back garden you would probably be quickly surrounded by the Anti Terrorist Squad screaming:
"Drop that weapon now or we shoot!"
Peter.

Here's a video of an interesting paralleogram mount ... looks impressive!!!
The guy's web site is at www.astrowood.com
He built one for Mike Gilmer, southern Louisiana amateur astronomer who I was in touch with before and who is also a big binocular fan Mike absolutely raves about the quality of the mount. He has discussed some slight modifications to the mount in the binocular forum on www.cloudynights.com
Another big binocular ... www.architecturetoursla.com/gallerypages/4.htm -- it's the Chiat/Day advertising agency in Venice, California. The building next door is shaped like the prow of a ship.
atb,
John

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

There's a good article in this month's Sky & Telescope that gives the plans to build a simple binocular mount, and it allows you to mount two pairs of binoculars at the same time.
Might be worth having a go at.
