Aldi Binoculars was created by michaeloconnell
I see Aldi will be selling binoculars from the 11th Nov.
Price is €19.99 which sounds very cheap to me.
Spec:
8x to 24x magnification. * 50mm coated objective lens * Centre focusing wheel * One eye dioptrically correctable * Fold-down rubber eye cups * Zoom lever * Tripod socket * Lens cloth * Heavy duty case * Supplied in a full colour display box with an instruction manual.
Sounds fairly good, especially considering the price.
Here's a link from a large retailer in the US who specialise in binoculars. Have a read of the section re. ruby coatings
www.bigbinoculars.com/faq.htm#9
Also perhaps worth reading this re. zoom binoculars:
www.chuckhawks.com/binocular_basics.htm
Hopefully this will alow people here to reach an educated decision re. the Aldi binos. I had a look through a similar pair before and they seemd fairly good. I may be wrong, but I *think* Aldi have a refund option. If you don't like them, I *think* you can get a refund within a certain number of days. Might be worth looking into that option if you are unsure about them.
Clear skies,

They are the ones I have Michael. Last time they retailed for €24.99. They are excellent value, very robust for their size amd price, and have not given me any trouble in the 2 years I have had them
I would strongly recommend these to anyone thinking of getting a pair of these. The zoom feature is very handy, and you can adjust one of the eyepieces to suit the focus of your eyes.
Get Them!
Seanie.
