No wonder the northern lights and NLC's are so common in your area and virtually impossible "down here".

I never realized that Ireland was so far north! We are at 38 degrees north of the equator.... Dublin is 53 degrees, Antrim should be something similar.
No wonder the northern lights and NLC's are so common in your area and virtually impossible "down here".

It's just short of 55 deg N where I live Antony, and with the new sunspot cycle kicking off we're looking forward to the auroras!

You should be able to do some really creative imaging (time series) that far north!
Just to give you an idea, I have considered travelling to the northern extremes of Finland for something similar.

Point 6 at the top of page 9 of your manual describes the steps for setting your latitude. In your photo there's a silvered T-handled screw behind the counterweights. At the opposite side of the mount there is a second one. As you tighten one you have to loosen the other. This will cause the mount to tilt. There is a scale on the axis that shows you the tilt in degrees.
As a man once advised me, RTFM :lol: :lol: :lol: .
