Hi Carl,
All going well, I'll be bringing the scope to Galway, I'm waiting for a particular shop here in Limerick to have their after Christmas sale so I can get the battery I need to run the scope, without it I'll be going manual in sites with no power. I'm happy with it so far.

now thats a telescope! fair play to you! I NEED ONE!!!!!lol What sort of detail do you get with mars, just as a matter of interest!

If we could cut all power to dublin, i might actually see something!

Hi,
On a night with good seeing, you can see the polar cap as well as a fair amount of detail, now its not Hubble details its not in your face but it is there. In comparison to my 12", its miles above it

As for Saturn, I've never seen Saturn as good through any other scope it was amazing early in 2007 when the rings were wider, I could nearly 400x and clearly see it, you could drive a truck through the cassini division.

This is primarily a deepsky scope, planetary and lunar viewing is a big surprise plus!.
