Astrophotography equipment Q's

Hi guys

Just a few quick Q's for ye.

I finally got my Nikon D80 and i want to start into astrophotography asap and i was wondering how do i attach it to the telescope.

And when i have the nessesary equipment, do i take off the lens or leave it on?

John, What kind of telescope do you have?

For best results, the telescope becomes the new "lens".

Hi John,
Uusally, you'd take off the camera lens and like Anthony says, the scope becomes the camera lens.
so first of all, you need a "t-ring" for your camera, there are many out there but you must get the one that is particular to your camera.
You then get a "t-adapter" which allows you to slot the camera into the 2" eyepiece barrel (btw, you also ditch the eyepiece) and that's it.
