Celestron telescopes rebadged as Orion was created by michaeloconnell
I was looking at the Orion website and noticed that they are now selling SCTs which have Celestron optics. Sizes available up to 11" SCT.

I checked the price of the aluminium tube C11 on OPT, and the celestron one sells for $19.95 less than what Orion are charging for their one. I didn't see any difference in spec.

I think we're moving towards the point where most telescopes are going to end up being made in the Synta factory in China. There certainly seem to be a lot of Celestrons that are exactly the same as Skywatchers.

My understanding is that Celestron, Orion and Skywatcher all come from the Same Synta factory in China and are effectively the same units rebadged.

That rings a bell, and I thought was a topic of conversation on these boards well over a year ago too. There was also the mention that Tasco was part of the same group or conglomorate.
