If anyone needs good Isopropyl alcohol (or propan-2-ol). My sister supplies all the hospitals with 2.5 litre bottles. Which should keep you going for years. I got mine on discount for £6

I don't need the Isopropyl alcohol but does she have any Poitin? It goes without saying it's for medicinal purposes only .
Down with vwls.

I'll echo the surgical isopropyl alcohol bit.
A recommended tool for gently wiping dust off a mirror is a camel hair brush. Camel hair is very fine, and light, and when you're typical handheld squeezy air blower won't get rid of dust, the brush should be next.
I heard that (Fairy) washing-up liquid is not entirely recommended due to the chemicals involved. I myself have used biological washing powder in hot water to completely dissolve the powder (better than non-bio), and then when cooled down to luke-warm, gently lay the mirror into the water. After about a 10 minute soak, remove, place on a towel (silver side up, of course) propped at an angle to allow the water to drip off, and then wipe gently with the surgical cotton wool to remove the remaining droplets/dry it off (radially, not in circles).
Truth be told, the less you have to clean the mirror the better, and the above soaking technique should not be needed at least once in about 6 years for relatively active mirrors.
Seanie.

Make sure you use 92% Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. I also filter everything thru a fiber coffee filter. I have UHTC coatings and have never seen any ill affects from cleaning.
I get damaged cases of 1 gal bottles of distilled water and 92% Isopropyl alchol from work.
I make up a batch and pour into a clean spray bottle. Spray on and use surgical cotton balls and Kleenex brand tissues, make sure pure, no additives to tissues.
